Decking I’ve been supplied is shocking. I asked for the York but was told the stuff at Tamworth is just as good but cheaper. So I went for it. Regret it. It was all bannaned and cut different lengths and size widths. Now it’s laid it’s starting to warp. Spoke to the area manager who agreed to replace it all. Next time I speak to him he doesn’t want to replace. He has changed his tune. I will be taking this matter further legally if they do not replace my decking as it’s only going to get worse. I use build base all the time but I’m shocked at the quality. Even a member of staff attended my house and he even said the same. He told me the decking I have is cheap nasty stuff and build base we’re cutting corners to save money.

Fabulous service, can’t fault it in the slightest! Many thanks to Chris for sorting us out, we aren’t easy to please but give this guy the credit he deserves. For 35 years I’ve trained people in retaining on focussing on selling skills and I’d give 10/10 for the whole experience. Well done!!

Initially visited the Gloucester branch looking for advice on a product suitable for creating a hot tub cover.
Service I received was first rate helpful knowledgeable and friendly.
I decided to buy from Cheltenham branch as nearer to wherever I live again great service and got the items delivered within the hour couldn’t ask for more.

I ordered four lintels and paid up front for them. I couldn't get hold of anyone regarding the delivery date. I kept asking for a date for over a week but kept being told I'll get a call back, I didn't. I managed to speak to someone eventually and I cancelled the order. Despite numerous phone calls and emails I am still waiting for my money a month later! Just received a phone call from a very obnoxious lady about my refund who then told me I shouldn't have ordered them through another branch because its confusing even though I hadn't, I rang a number, how do I know where they are!! Let's see if I get my refund. Stay away from this company, they are obviously more important than their customers!
Thank you for your reply but I will not contact you as I have wasted enough time on this, let's see if this rude lady, I think she's at the Bolton branch gives me my refund. It's the first time I have used your company and definitely the last.
Sent an email for a brick match for '3' projects which are valued at around 80k in materials. Buildbase website states that a contact will be made within 48hrs. 10 days later still not heard a thing. I've decided to take my take my business to MKM instead. Not impressed at all and I've been a long term account holder for a few years. Get your act together buildbase.

Someone needs to sort this company out, the staff took 5 minutes just to get off their backside to walk to the trade counter.
Couldn’t be bothered
Buildbase Thrapston are only interested in trade not one customer. I ordered 8 sheets of moisture plasterboard around the 10th Oct and asked for delivery. The first available date was the 19th Oct. I only live 1/2 mile from the store. Called today to see when delivery will be made and all I got was after 12. What sort of answer is that. If my company ran transport like that we'd all be out of a job. The fact the best person who worked there got laid off says it all
Placed an online order on Friday. Two hours later my local Buildbase (Farnham) called to confirm the order and let me know delivery would be on the Tuesday. Tuesday 9am - I called to find out the delivery time. I was called back within 10 mins after the person I spoke to had checked with the driver for and ETA. Driver turned up at the ETA, was polite and helpful. I couldn't ask for more in terms of service. Thank you
Ordered 2 full size sheets of plasterboard at exorbitant price on 3rd June from Airdrie Branch who said delivery would be 1/2 weeks.
After several phone calls in July, to find out why it was not being delivered I asked for a refund in mid July.
I was told with no apology or reason for non delivery, the money would be refunded. Money back - Time wasted on unreliable company.
The only problem I had with this company was a small one, I phoned to ask if I could order and arrange a delivery date for a month later the lady on the phone was very polite and said that wouldnt be a problem so went ahead and placed my order just to get a phone call 3 days later saying we have this thursday or this friday we can't hold your order for a month. A bit of an inconvenience but got the stuff delivered any way. The products are of good quality the wood I ordered was really nice, no complaints there. Delivery was simple the driver was polite and left the items where we wanted. I will most definitely use them again for wood.
The guy’s at Pulham Market are fantastic but still closed! They’ve been trying to get our big order out to us from the really awful Norwich branch, we are building our own house and wanted to use the local branch at Pulham Market to get all our Supplies but for some reason the people at head office won’t let them open so we have to rely on the Norwich branch who just don’t seem to care and cannot seem to get our order out to us. We have been waiting Since the 29th of May, being told next week, next week, all the time but next week never seems to come.
If anyone From build base head office read this then get Pulham market open NOW! we want to support our local businesses.
Ordered some grout during lockdown, got a call very promptly to collect on a specific day at a specific time, thought great. Then it went downhill. Collected the grout, got it home, found that the vacuum sealed bag was open and the grout had gone off, so returned to store. No problem, will replace, but none on stock. Was told by two of the staff that they would contact me when the grout arrived. A month later, and several phone calls made by me to them, still no grout and told that the company no longer manufactured it, so I asked for a refund, no problem. I sent an E-mail to cover myself, cannot rely on just phone calls with companies in general and then got a call later in the day ( wonders ), we can get you some. Pity it was not sorted sooner. Had already ordered some on-line form another supplier and that came in a couple of days. My biggest issue with this supplier is that they did not get in touch with me once, except after I had requested a refund. Poor customer service
